This is a chair designed to address seat occupancy problem in libraries. It employs a physical and visible method to resolve the ambiguity in the ownership of public space. The main pain point in this regard lies in the blurred boundary between “temporary absence” and “longtime seat occupancy”. This chair perfectly balances these two needs through a 15-minute thermochromic imprint.
