GentlePasta is an Italian restaurant brand founded in Guangzhou, rooted in the philosophy of “old-time rituals meets new-age taste.” Its spatial approach integrates value-driven dining, emotional storytelling, and scene-based versatility to continuously expand a collection of distinct thematic locations.
The Guangzhou Poly Time Mile location fuses the brand’s core “vintage cinema” identity with the spatial language of a European train station, forming a hybrid dining station between “waiting to depart” and “watching a film.” The venue is divided into two zones: the exterior adopts immersive train station elements such as a green newsstand, platform signage, and metallic train doors to create the “Gentle Pasta Station” entry. The interior continues the cinematic vocabulary—featuring ceiling-mounted picture frames, directional lightboxes, and mirrored reflections—reinforcing GentlePasta’s signature theatrical dining experience.
This cultural crossover of “station × cinema” introduces narrative tension through visual rhythm, spatial flow, and lighting design. Black mirrored ceilings printed with phrases reflect the directional floor layout, while a unified typography system guides wayfinding through the marquee, kitchen pass, and signage points—altogether forming a cohesive, shareable visual identity.
The seating layout is structured with mirrored zoning between interior and exterior areas, using modular furniture and banquettes to accommodate flexible social settings and high turnover periods. An open kitchen is placed along the central visual axis, designed with semi-transparent dividers and semantic lightboxes to express culinary openness. Since opening, the restaurant has consistently ranked among the most popular Western dining venues on Dianping.
In terms of sustainability, the space uses durable materials such as metal frameworks, subway tiles, and standardized lighting systems to ensure long-term maintenance efficiency. Across all its themed locations, GentlePasta maintains a consistent set of soft furnishing modules—including picture frames, booth layouts, and mirrored text—which serve as both a brand storytelling thread and a scalable design language, supporting sustainable spatial replication across sites.
