Tiny Doo Doo Child Medical Clinic

Designing children’s clinics require high-level of sensitivity; specific attention to a wide range of user personalities and medical needs. By prioritising user experience, we hope to resolve troublesome family trips and break through monotonous medical appointments.



Tiny Doodoo offers general practice, specialist services and also dental care for children in local Panyu area. Main users include children of all ages as well as their parents; those coming for simple check-ups, and others who require more intensive specialist treatment.



Extra care was taken to appropriately regulate atmospheres for different families with different degrees of medical urgencies, we utilized the two-storey clinic to split the services into 2 intensities: G/F offers general medical and dental services, designed to be more casual and dynamic; 1/F is reserved for more delicate patients and is more peaceful and calm.



No single design would suit such a wide variety of ages and behaviour; so we divided G/F into 3 zones: for the introverted, the more energetic, and a specially segregated baby zone. Each zone has a respective centre-piece tailor-designed to suit both adults and children: the curved table for kids is also a bench for parents; the slide also acts as a gathering area; the elevated play mat is ergonomically designed to support mothers accompanying their babies without straining their backs.



Attention was given to designing a smooth and comforting experience from entering the clinic through to the services required, reaching within each individual treatment room. Segregated coves and benches provide privacy for individual families; plants and pastel colours enhance comfort and compassion. Designated stroller parking ensures a collision-free environment; smooth edges and padded corners guarantee safety. A solid façade ensures indoor privacy, and extra effort was also paid in choosing VOC-free materials to ensure a clean, toxin-free environment.



The project hopes to not only boast new impressions towards the medical sector and inject more playfulness, compassion and warmth to child medical services; but fundamentally bring the focus back to functionality and user experience. Tiny Doodoo’s service and sensitivity is extended to every corner of the clinic.
