POP LAND

POP LAND is the first immersive IP-themed amusement park created by POP MART International Group. Its lighting design redefines how lighting can transform a large-scale entertainment destination into an enchanting, story-driven wonderland. The park is divided into four main zones: Bubble Street, the Fantasy Forest, the Lakeside DIMOO Cruise, and the iconic MOLLY Castle. Comprehensive lighting design encompasses outdoor landscapes, architectural façades, and interior public spaces.

Inspired by Labubu’s whimsical adventures through a magical forest, the lighting concept blends storytelling with functional illumination. Carefully orchestrated layers of light highlight IP sculptures, pathways, and façades, inviting visitors into an immersive narrative-driven experience.

Bubble Street: As the entry gateway, vibrant and playful lighting draws guests into a lively atmosphere. Illuminated feature trees, themed sculptures, and glowing installations create a festival-like ambiance that signals the start of the adventure.

Fantasy Forest: Customized fixtures with natural wooden finishes merge seamlessly with the outdoor landscape. Dynamic projections of animal footprints animate the ground, adding a sense of mystery and interactivity for visitors of all ages.

MOLLY Castle: This landmark building is transformed into a sparkling fairytale vision. A layered combination of point, line, and surface lighting accentuates the European-style façade. The crown atop the castle features precision-installed LED point sources embedded into fiberglass structures, creating a jewel-like brilliance that shifts in intensity through intelligent dimming. The castle façade lighting synchronizes with bubble machines and IP-themed projections for a grand visual spectacle.

Interior Spaces: Lighting is refined and elegant, focusing on comfort and ambiance. Custom-designed ceiling panels diffuse light softly, providing a warm and welcoming environment for themed dining and exhibitions.

Challenges of retrofitting concealed lighting into pre-existing structures were met with custom solutions, adjusting fixture dimensions and installation methods to ensure precision and invisibility. Multifunctional outdoor poles combine lighting, sound, surveillance, and networking to streamline infrastructure. An intelligent control system allows smooth scene changes for daily, festive, and special events, saving energy while preserving visual impact.
