The project is rooted in the memory of Zhujiang River's industrial civilization. As a key player in the shipbuilding industry of the last century, the site carries the collective memory of the city's development. Adhering to the design concept of "Original Shipyard, Future Harbor," the project reconstructs historical scenes through the preservation of industrial relics such as gantries, docks, and anchors. While maintaining the site's industrial heritage, a flexible public space system is incorporated, creating a multi-layered waterfront interface, transforming the shipyard into a dynamic urban living room. Here, history and the present converge, the roar of machinery is replaced by the sound of river breezes and birdsong, and industrial heritage is transformed into urban culture, bearing witness to the historic transformation of Zhujiang River's coastline from a productive waterfront to a destination for living.
The project is anchored in the Greater Bay Area's urban renewal strategy. By preserving the industrial elements of the former shipyard site, it allows history to dialogue with urban development, integrates parks, schools, residences, and commerce to catalyze waterfront space and urban life, and provides a replicable sustainable development paradigm for the regeneration of riverside industrial heritage in megacities.
