With younger generations reshaping the definition of luxury, the first pilot of Harry Rosen’s reimagined store concept comes to life at West Edmonton Mall. Designed and executed by dkstudio architects inc., the concept is structured around two worlds, the Lux World and Contemporary World. They are linked by a central sculptural feature: a winding glass partition that flows through the space, a modern yin and yang, dividing and uniting the store’s two identities.
The Lux World honours Harry Rosen’s timeless dedication to fine tailoring and formalwear. Brands such as Zegna, Canali, Brunello Cucinelli, and Tom Ford are showcased beneath oil-rubbed bronze archways, a meeting of Old World craftsmanship and modern elegance. Floor displays and wall fixtures, custom-crafted in bronze, concrete, and faux leather reflect deep-rooted values of refinement. Behind this zone is the Kingdom of Clothing, a circular sanctuary devoted to bespoke tailoring and formalwear, featuring a bronze-clad shirt wall, a continuous mirrored display for tuxedos, and a lounge area anchored by a custom-designed rug. Here, clients can experience the essence of Harry Rosen’s sartorial heritage.
As we move into the Contemporary World, the architectural language evolves with the store. While the forms remain consistent, the materials transition to stainless steel, cement, and white oak — a more industrial, youthful space for a curated edit of younger luxury brands, premium sportswear, and elevated denim collections. It’s a dynamic environment where modern style is seen and felt. Shoes form the focal point here upon a sculptural display. Inspired by a tailor’s measuring tape, the shelves curve in a fluid, bean-shaped layout — a metaphor for motion, progress, and walking forward. European fashion sneakers and designer footwear are presented not as accessories, but as essential expressions of lifestyle and identity.
The Harry Rosen concept store in Edmonton is more than a renovation — it is a bridge between a storied past and an ambitious future. It pays homage to the brand’s origins while charting a path forward. It is an architectural essay that explores the evolving language of fashion and retail, and sets a compelling new tone for the future of the
