TUCCI - New York: A Legacy Reimagined At 643 Broadway, TUCCI - New York is more than a restaurant—it's a love letter to heritage, hospitality, and high design. Created by visionary Max Tucci, this multi-level space weaves his family’s Italian legacy into the fabric of Manhattan’s vibrant energy. Every detail is intentional, from the restored 150-year-old oak floors to hand-painted staircase art by Christopher Florentino (Flore), echoing the past with a bold, contemporary voice. On the ground floor, floor-to-ceiling windows frame the city like a living canvas. Handcrafted banquettes upholstered in velvet and chenille (sourced from Mood Fabrics) sit beneath cascading crimson drapes salvaged from the iconic Gramercy Park Hotel’s Rose Bar—elegantly merging nostalgia with modern refinement. The floral wallpaper-faced bar, topped with polished concrete, bridges industrial edge and Italian warmth, while rose gold Zafferano table lamps glow with quiet glamour. Descending into the lower level, a Tuscan-style wine cellar unfolds. Exposed brick arches, stone walls, and the lovingly restored oak bar—with a Craquelure finish—evoke old-world charm. Ambient lighting from O’lampia’s hand-blown chandeliers and curated photography from the Tucci family archives envelop diners in intimacy and story. Private rooms showcase large-format images on acrylic: Oscar Tucci beside his 1940 Cadillac, and family dinners in Florence—a soulful tribute to a culinary dynasty. Balancing historical preservation and modern sophistication, Max Tucci along with his team navigated strict Landmarks Preservation Commission guidelines to bring this vision to life. Sustainability took center stage, from salvaged materials to artisanal restoration, seamlessly executed under tight deadlines. Design isn’t just aesthetic here—it’s narrative. From Gucci wallpaper to Farrow & Ball’s moody palette, every surface speaks. TUCCI - New York is a celebration of memory, artistry, and the enduring power of design to tell stories across generations. It’s more than a destination—it’s an experience, a landmark reborn through vision.
The "TUCCI" name that blazes on Broadway is lifted from a 1970s Delmonico’s wine menu, scrawled in ink by Max’s late father, Mario. It’s not branding. It’s a resurrection. A sign from above. A father’s signature, now a son’s legacy in lights.
