“It types. It vanishes.” In the age of overwhelming information, every word is born on the edge of its own disappearance.
This installation combines a vintage typewriter, an automated paper feed, and a shredding mechanism, allowing words to be written and destroyed at the very same moment. Driven by rows of servo motors, each keystroke lands with deliberate slowness, as if resisting oblivion, yet the page is pulled into the shredder before the ink can dry. Titled “It types. It vanishes.”, the work reflects the fleeting nature of expression in an age of overwhelming information: words are created but never truly heard, recorded yet never preserved. More than a machine, it stands as a metaphor for impermanence—a reminder that creation and disappearance now move hand in hand.
