Let's Play [Pippi] in This Summer

This project is themed around "Let's Play [Pippi] in This Summer". Ingka Centres (China) has collaborated with the classic Swedish fairy tale IP Pippi Longstocking to redefine the essence of commercial spaces by "breaking the stereotypes of play", transforming Pippi's bravery, freedom, and spirit into an immersive interactive landscape, which inspires cross-generational audiences to explore a more playful and joyful life.
This project employs the picture book's classic color palette and IP symbols to create circulation paths. The main venue in the LIVAT Centre Beijing recreates the "Villa Villekulla" estate, integrating open building block areas and treasure hunt games to make commercial space a fairy tale storyteller. Additionally, interactive scenes such as giant three-dimensional picture book installations and pastel-colored graffiti rooms are introduced, constructing a gateway to a fairy tale world that transcends age groups. Through modular scene combinations and dynamic lighting interaction, LIVAT Centres across different cities maintain a unified IP identity while seamlessly blending with local buildings. This project is mainly constructed from recyclable corrugated paper, combined with a modular design that maximizes material reusability, interpreting the eco-friendly concept.
Featuring corrugated paper as the medium, this project applies a modular, replicable design to offer an innovative model for IP activation and sustainable practices in the landscape field, setting a new benchmark that balances cultural value with ecological responsibility.
