Inspiring Formosa: From Mirage to Mirror premiered at the National Concert Hall in Taipei, establishing a new paradigm at the intersection of Entertainment × Exhibition Design × Smart Technologies. Produced by Jeff Lin and curated and performed by organist Hsiaoyi Yu, the project was jointly realized with the Formosa Organ Culture Association and ArtPure, in collaboration with Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), as a landmark cross-disciplinary innovation.
At its core, the concert was powered by ITRI’s state-of-the-art Generative AI (GAI) computational platform, which translated musical structures into algorithmically generated dynamic visuals. These visuals were sculpted across the hall’s walls, columns, and domes through architectural-scale projection mapping, combined with advanced transparent holographic screen technology to create floating visual dimensions. An immersive spatial lighting system, synchronized with the organ’s resonance, transformed the venue into a “flowing architecture” of sound and light.
Here, technology was no longer auxiliary but the narrative architecture itself: AI algorithmic computation × holographic transparency × projection mapping × immersive lighting became equal storytelling forces alongside the music. For the first time, audiences could both “hear” and “see” the resonance of the pipe organ, entering a multi-sensory universe where entertainment, exhibition, and technology converged.
The program bridged Bach’s Counterpoint with contemporary world premieres: Baroque structures materialized as light geometries, modern idioms unfolded as data-driven futuristic landscapes, and Taiwan’s Austronesian spirit was elevated into a globalized cultural design language.
This production was more than a concert—it was a Smart Technology-driven Cultural Innovation Prototype. It positioned Taiwan as the first in Asia to pioneer an AI-powered immersive organ brand, presenting a replicable global model for entertainment design, exhibition innovation, and smart technology applications, and setting a new international benchmark in cultural innovation and immersive design.
