Shangdong Jinmao Jintang, Tianjin

Tianjin Shangdong Jinmao Jintang is located in Dongli District, between Tianjin’s central city and the Binhai New Area, a key position within the dual-city development strategy. This strategic location provides strong potential for urban renewal and future growth.
The project’s defining feature is its concept of “borderless symbiosis,” which reimagines the interface between city and community. Instead of rigid separations, the design seeks to dissolve boundaries, creating spaces that welcome people of all ages and backgrounds. Two signature environments anchor this vision: the urban frontage “Scenic Tang Courtyard” and the all-age courtyard “Art Tree Valley.” Together, they foster scenes of everyday warmth—children running freely, elders engaging in conversation, and neighbors meeting naturally under the shade of a symbolic great tree.
Through this design approach, the project breaks down barriers of space, age, and mindset. It integrates nature and culture to shape a human-centered living environment, embodying the philosophy of “New Livelihood Aesthetics.” The emphasis is not only on physical space but also on the creation of emotional bonds and community connections.
More than a residential development, Jintang offers a sustainable model of inclusive living. It promotes intergenerational coexistence, encourages social vitality, and demonstrates how landscape-led design can transform urban life into an experience of belonging, warmth, and resilience.
