Since 2010, The Reef in Frederikshavn, Denmark, has been Scandinavia’s leading adventure waterpark—designed by Swedish concept and design agency Stylt, who created the original immersive Caribbean theme. Now, fifteen years later, Stylt has returned to reimagine and elevate the entire experience with a full-scale renovation, turning the hotel into Quality Hotel The Reef Resort.
The vision was to evolve the waterpark into a full Caribbean-inspired resort—a destination not just for families, but also for leisure and business travelers. Surrounded by the natural and cultural riches of North Jutland, The Reef has become a vibrant escape that blends tropical warmth with Danish hospitality.
The interior design is anchored in the theme Danish heart, Caribbean soul, carried consistently across all guest touchpoints—from lobby and rooms to restaurants, meeting spaces, and the updated waterpark. The design merges rich color, tropical greenery, and natural materials to create a playful, inclusive, and welcoming atmosphere.
The result is a seamless, story-driven experience where every space contributes to a larger narrative. This isn’t just a renovation—it’s the completion of a vision. The Reef is now a truly holistic resort: emotionally resonant, operationally smart, and bursting with personality.
