"OCEAN NET" is a wearable interactive art installation that explores the symbiotic relationship between nature and technology by extending the boundaries of the human body. The piece merges the organic forms of marine life with gear-driven mechanical systems, symbolizing technology as an extension of humanity. It reflects mankind’s desire to replicate the rhythms of nature and reawaken the deep-seated memories of the ocean. The installation prompts a questioning of the boundaries between technology and nature, sparking a reflection on how humans, in an increasingly mechanized world, can reconnect with the natural world and the essence of life.
The design draws inspiration from the biological structures of shells and octopus tentacles. Through precise design and 3D printing technology, the piece creates a new interface between the mechanical and the biological: the tentacles at the back rotate in an interlaced motion driven by gears, while the shell textures pulse in rhythm, mimicking the breath of life and showcasing the fusion of nature and technology.
"OCEAN NET" offers a personalized experience through its QR code interactive system. Wearers can adjust the vibration intensity and rotation frequency via a dedicated webpage. Each interaction generates unique dynamic visuals and tactile sensations, creating an immersive sensory experience. Using the ocean as its medium, the piece breaks the boundaries between the body and technology, exploring the future relationship between humans and nature, while bridging the gap between art and philosophical inquiry.
