The Conscious Ritual

Addressing the dissonance between external perceptions and the true internal self, the collection The Conscious Ritual bridges the gap between the seen and unseen, materializing the unseen aspects of identity while confronting misconceptions associated with first impressions.
Approaching this idea through the lens of Korean Shamanism—specifically the Hanyeo-gut ritual of Jeju Island, praying for the safe return of female divers. 
Drawing parallels between myself and the shaman as intermediaries: navigating between the visible and the obscure, and the fluid spectrum of cultural identity.
