Brand & Packaging Design Rationale for Little Whale
"Little Whale" is a new children's beverage brand under Bidos Foods Co., Ltd., requiring a fresh brand and packaging identity. Our core design objectives were clear: make kids fall in love at first sight, give moms instant confidence, and create a name that everyone remembers and can easily say.
Therefore, our entire design revolves around these key themes: Fun & Playfulness, Instant Memorability, Shareability & Interaction, and Simplicity & Impact.
Design Concept in Detail
The overall form is a highly stylized blue whale, ensuring an unmistakable connection to the brand name while playfully communicating its fun spirit. The custom logotype mimics a child's innocent handwriting, aligning with the lighthearted tone and effectively resonating with the target audience. It strikes a balance: cute enough to feel familiar to children, yet clear and legible for all parents—easy to recognize, read, and remember, fostering natural, word-of-mouth spread.
We transformed the traditional barcode into imaginative "whale baleen," a playful detail that complies with regulations while making scanning an engaging moment. The bottle cap is designed as a tiny spouting whale. Every time a child twists it open, they interact with the whale, turning visual charm into a tangible, "squeezable" experience of joy.
Visual Strategy & Practical Clarity
The primary color palette uses a refreshing blue against clean white, creating stark contrast for standout shelf presence. All mandatory product information is meticulously typeset to flow in organized, wave-like zones, ensuring clear hierarchy. This allows parents to find key details quickly, building trust through transparency.
From brand image and structural form to interactive details, this design crafts a "gentle and nuanced journey of childlike wonder." We made the product speak for itself—capturing children's eyes and hands with bold visuals and playful interactions, while winning moms' hearts and trust with professional colors and clear communication. Ultimately, the goal was to transform this packaging into a fun, tasty, memorable, and shareable "family companion."
