NANJING ORIENTAL VILLA

The project is situated along the southern foothills of Purple Mountain, embracing the charm of the imperial city of Jinling and absorbing the essence of mountains, rivers, cities, and forests. From the misty rain of the Six Dynasties to the prosperity of modern times, this place has always been a spiritual landmark where nature and culture intertwine in Nanjing.
In this precious and rare place, the project continues the narrative of the Jinling landscape with contemporary artistic expression. The design traces back to the oriental artistic conception found in Wang Wei's poetry and paintings, condensing the majesty of Zijin Mountain and the Xuanwu water system into a three-dimensional landscape garden. Inspired by the philosophical thought of "walking to the end of the water, sitting to watch the clouds rise," it creates a landscape realm amidst the mountains and waters. It not only showcases the natural poetic beauty of lush mountains and shimmering water reflections, but also integrates modern forms with the living aesthetics of oriental connotations.
We use landscape as a medium to allow the millennia-old cultural heritage to breathe and grow in modern settings. Here, every corner is a dialogue with the mountains and waters, and every courtyard is a dwelling of the mind. It is not just a residence, but also a three-dimensional landscape poem that can be traveled and lived in. The creation of the double sunken courtyard condenses the majesty of Purple Mountain into a small space through miniaturized artistic techniques, creating an immersive natural atmosphere.
