The project is located in the Ghost City scenic area of Karamay, Xinjiang, China. The core concept of this installation is "Gobi Symbiosis", anchoring on the site's genetic elements of "Yadan landform + wilderness atmosphere" to create a public landmark that combines artistic tension and local characteristics. The design adopts a parametric dome structure, with a red-and-white gradient skin that integrates the reddish-brown texture of the Yadan rock hills and the futuristic feel of digital aesthetics. The top part is red, echoing the geological background of the Gobi Danxia, gradually transitioning downwards to the lighter white of the Yadan rock mass. The pixelated texture completes the transition between natural texture and artificial form. The transparent hollowed-out shape not only eliminates the heaviness of the large volume but also simulates the characteristic "wind-eroded perforations" of the Yadan landform. Natural light penetrates through the holes, creating flowing shadows inside, echoing the natural narrative of the Ghost City's "wind-eroded sculpting".
Functionally, the installation serves as both an art piece in the wilderness and a temporary resting spot for tourists. The open interior space accommodates small gatherings and scenic views, while the external form serves as an excellent photo spot, enhancing the visual memory of the scenic area. By activating the wilderness space with a pioneering form, it becomes a spiritual landmark connecting the natural landscape of the Ghost City with cultural tourism experiences.
