Chengzhi·Baishahu Homestay

This project is a cultural tourism and homestay design in Aktau, supported by Ganzhou in Xinjiang. It is rooted in the regional culture of the Western Regions and the primal texture of the plateau, with the aesthetics of Xinjiang ethnic folk customs at its core, creating a cultural tourism space that combines local characteristics with a vacation feel.
The building facade uses rammed earth textures, paired with ethnic-style arches, sawtooth eaves, and wooden corridors, ech-oing the plateau landscape and traditional architecture of the Western Regions, giving it a rustic, heavy, and highly regional identifiable character. The interior design deeply extracts traditional intangible cultural heritage elements of Xinjiang, incorporating handmade carpet patterns, colorful glazed tiles, ethnic wood carvings, and woven hangings into the space. The wooden beams preserve the natural texture, with a base of earthy yellow accented by ethnic red, indigo blue, and dark green, recreating the folk atmosphere of the Western Regions.
The space balances traditional aesthetics with modern trav-el and living functions. Details such as soft furnishings, lighting, and domed carpets replicate the essence of ethnic craftsmanship, minimizing deliberate carving, and creating an immersive Western Region travel experience through natural ma-terials and folk symbols. The design, centered on cultural in-heritance, integrates Aktau’s regional characteristics with modern cultural tourism demands, creating a distinctive ethnic-identifiable cultural tourism benchmark, and contributes to the revitalization of regional cultural tourism.
