About The Entry

Hangzhou North Merchants Garden City is China's first super complex built upon the forward-looking core philosophy of "XOD (Exchange-Oriented Development)." The XOD model emphasizes an "integration and exchange" orientation, driving urban development logic toward systemic evolution by deeply weaving and linking diverse core urban elements. Boasting a massive commercial volume of over 240,000 square meters, the project breaks through the simple superposition of traditional re-tail spaces. Through multi-factor synergy and functional composite-ness, it has emerged as a new paradigm that stimulates regional eco-nomic vitality and leads the city toward a more diverse and efficient future.

In terms of spatial and scenario construction, the project achieves four dimensions of "Super Connectivity":

Connecting with Transit: Seamlessly integrated with Metro Line 15, the project utilizes clever designs such as sunken plazas to forge a super connection with urban transit arteries, achieving an efficient conver-sion from public transit flows to commercial foot traffic.

Connecting with Nature: Integrating the ecological landscape of Wolongbang Park, the complex features a super inner courtyard and mul-ti-tiered green terraces. It also carves out a unique visual corridor directed straight toward the "Wangchen Pavilion," dissolving the boundaries between architecture and nature.

Connecting with Culture: Extracting local culture to build an immer-sive Hangzhou narrative, the design incorporates a dynamic audiovisual "Qiantang River Tide" facade, an outdoor block featuring intangible cultural heritage oil-paper umbrella lighting, and a "Fantasy Ark" centerpiece modeled after the enterprise's heritage.

Connecting with Life: A 20,000-square-meter cultural and sports center is deeply bound to the shopping center and other primary formats. Through ingenious spatial organization, these amenities genuinely blend into and empower everyday urban life.

Hangzhou North Merchants Garden City is not merely a commercial land-mark; it is an avant-garde exploration of the deep integration between commercial spaces and urban functionality.
