The project is located in a high-tech urban area, adjacent to a major innovation hub, combining the relaxed coastal vibe with the energy of everyday city life and the intellectual atmosphere of an educational district. Drawing inspiration from the architectural and interior elements of prestigious academic institutions, the design translates scholarly forms, materials, and functions into a distinctive contemporary aesthetic.
A material dialogue between red brick and warm wood, combined with symbols of scholarship and the warmth of local life, creates a character that balances humanity with everyday living. Artistic installations and interactive technology interweave historical memory with contemporary scenes, offering an immersive experience that embodies the ideal of a “knowledge community.” The space functions not merely as a sales venue but as a cultural medium, connecting the city’s past and future while establishing an emotional foundation for subsequent community engagement.
The design emphasizes a coherent narrative, integrating the academic theme with the site’s geographical context. A grand, temple-like red brick dome evokes timeless humanistic experience, merging the memory of the city’s red brick heritage with the aura of prestigious academies. Diverse red brick elements are applied in various forms and techniques, creating both visual interest and material richness.
Addressing the challenges of custom brickwork, the design implements several strategies to optimize construction fidelity and efficiency. Modular dimensions reduce the need for non-standard bricks, while pre-scheduled production and batch procurement ensure a seamless supply. Prefabricated corner components enhance finishing quality, and factory pre-arrangement organizes bricks by color and proportion. Joint filler is applied in advance, with threaded rebar used to press and grind the bricks into arcs. Construction sequencing prevents contamination from cement dust, while professional cleaning agents and wax finishes maintain long-term appearance.
Through thoughtful material selection, spatial narrative, and meticulous construction techniques, the design harmonizes heritage, contemporary life, and functional efficiency.
