About The Entry
This design revolves around the core concept of the 'growing urban veins,' focusing on resilient upgrades and urban symbiosis at key uni-versity campus road and plaza entrances. Campus entrances are not just traffic points—they're the smart gateway and cultural window connect-ing the city to the campus, carrying both an educational atmosphere and the public image of the city. Addressing pain points like narrow road access, limited functionality, weak ecology, and the divided city-campus boundary, the project prioritizes human-centered essential needs, improving daily commutes for faculty and students, separating pedestrian and vehicle traffic, and enhancing walking safety, reshap-ing the campus entry into a convenient, safe, and comfortable gateway system.
This design aims not just for a physical upgrade of roads and landscapes but for a value upgrade: transforming the campus entrance from an isolated checkpoint into a warm interface of city-campus co-existence—where ecological benefits, pedestrian dignity, and public life genuinely intersect along this renewed road. The design breaks the traditional closed campus boundaries, dissolving barriers between campus and city, creating an open, shared urban living room-like pub-lic space. Through strategies like low-impact development, vegetation restoration, and sponge site construction, it achieves sustainable ecological renewal, letting the landscape grow naturally and persist dynamically.
With a resilient design approach, the project integrates traffic functions, ecological restoration, public service needs, and urban vi-tality, transforming the university entrance from a single-purpose road into a complex public space that links the city’s fabric, sup-ports student and faculty life, expresses the university’s character and culture, and serves the wider community. It embodies the concept of a 'people-centered city,' exemplifying high-quality urban renewal design that continues campus veins, sustains ecology, and promotes city-campus co-existence.
