The little world

The homeowners are a DINK couple, the host has the hobby of smoking cigars and playing games, and the hostess likes to have afternoon tea with friends at home, how to create a unique little world in this 46-square-meters space is an important issue for the project.

In this tiny space, the entrance, dining room and cigar room are separated, which meets the needs of the house mainframe, but the space becomes fragmented at the same time. So we designed a multi-functional wall that contains the function of the shoes cabinet, the bench of the dining table and the cigar room TV wall, etc. The wall is continuous with the entire space that solved the problem of space fragmentation perfectly. Activities at those three spaces are connected in series, and the whole space looks just bright and the atmosphere is relaxed. For us, the room is a place to sleep and rest. The wardrobe is replaced at a dressing room, that made the space large enough to place a bigger bed and the owner can get a simple rest space.

The wall was made of cement and special paint mixed with the hand-painted by the master. The authenticity of the cement reflects the traces of the construction process, and those traces are the unique material expressions of this space.
