Connecting objects and people to their surroundings has been a significant focus of the automobile industry in the last decade. This connection is both through local self-aware detection via cameras and sensors. It also is moving to add over-the-air network connection through wireless technologies like 5G. This experience has not been transferred to use cycles, scooters, motorcycles, personal electric vehicles, etc. When trying to move to this market, the challenge is to create a compact device that is power efficient, feature-rich, easy to operate, and reliable. Many devices that have been on the market are relying on Radar to provide surrounding awareness. However, these devices are limited in creating an understanding of precisely what is around you and have a reputation for creating false positives in terms of collision prediction. Our proprietary technology uses a combination of AI, Machine Learning, and optical technology to accurately detect an object, recognize the object and predict the speed and direction of travel to the user. This information is then processed and delivered to the user in a simple visual and audio format. The device is also designed to be connected to a wireless network, such as 5G, and become part of the digitally connected IoT landscape. The advantage of this is that the user is no longer relying on self-action to avoid collisions. The other connected devices such as autonomous vehicles, self-driving cars, or any object/person connected to the network can take action and be warned.
