Classic to Chic

The architectural aesthetics of Lingnan, China, inherits the spacial approach of traditional Chinese gardens and infuses it into architecture and interior design. As a new take of the traditional stone moongate, the designer uses a huge piece of clear glass along with a back wall of Chinese ink painting to recreate the exquisite and crystal-clear feature.



The well-crafted window grilles also extend the space and bring a sense of transparency. Different sections of the space are separated with a classical approach, which makes the space comforting as well as inviting. Blurring the line between the seen and unseen, the philosophy of traditional Chinese gardens is realized and applied to a modern design. The interior space and the landscape united as one while the architect design overlaps with the overall design, and depicts a picturesque scenery. The layout embodies the spirits of Lingnan to pursue freedom and embrace nature.



The showcase section is symmetrical to the main axis and representative of the Eastern charm. In the modern interpretation of classical luxury still shines the ease and calmness of Zen. With a semi-open plan, conversations will no longer be plain and one-noted due to the surrounding ambience, which enriches the mind of one. The serenity which comes with time combines the space and light into one, and transforms the atmosphere and elements of space for good.



With modern materials and applications to reinterpret space, artworks of different styles constitute multiple visual points. The meeting area is in the format, texture and color palette of Classicism, which abandons piling on layers and layers of textures and focuses on simplifying lines. Even with the simplicity, the cultural foundation and the historical marks can still shine through. A modern and chic sales office with exquisite touches can bring joy to senses.
