It is a multi-family residence constructed of reinforced concrete with an overall interior space of only 38 square meters. The owner wants simultaneous rest of four people without any mutual-disturbance. The bathroom needs a bathtub. The parents dislike sofa bed, so fixed beds are needed for both parents and children to rest. But the owner hopes that the beds will not be seen by callers. Also, he hopes for there to be normal clothes airing.

At the center of the house is a bunk bed, which occupies the center of the space. Since parents and children go to bed in different ways, there is no mutual-disturbance. The layout, scale and streamline of the house are redesigned, enabling the elderly to watch TV and do cleaning while keeping an eye on the children. With plenty of light flowing in, the private areas of the interior are divided to better echo the outside views. Enough dynamic lines are reserved to avoid crowdedness.

Traditional construction methods and natural materials such as light green environmental protection paint, and wood veneer are applied to the house, for the reason that they will take on gradual changes as the kids grow up. The design ensures that the family lives in an environment surrounded by these materials. The custom-made furniture furnishing all the house, and the environment-friendly fabric curtains, reflect the designers’ efforts to seek a lifestyle that suits the owner, and their belief that reflection on the family structure, lifestyle, layout, texture of materials and focus will help them tap deeply into the essence of residential design.

When the sun shines into the living area, different materials coordinate well. Designers’ fine tuning of the details successfully turns nature into an organic part of the living space, and creates a comfortable and warm atmosphere alive with spirituality. Exquisite combination of utensils, lifting device for kitchen storage, the intelligent bathtub design in the bathroom all point to the principle that the interior design should echo the refined urban space. That is, life is not the Mr. Almost, but the Mr. Excellence.
