In Between Light & Shades

The overall aesthetic appeal starts with the main wall combining warmth of wood and texture of stone, such a horizontal stretch invites extensive natural lighting indoor to create a gentle and cozy ambience. A few steps upward from the dining zone to upper floor, there unexpectedly meet the unique art piece of the owner’s collection. With its vibes and rhythm, the light-weighted, somewhat visually floating staircase becomes a focal point, as if an installation art itself.



The critical nodes, in design terms, exist where material, textures, lighting, shadows and hue gradations subtly intersect, be that of exclusion or attraction. For this 3,600 ft2 renovated residence, boasting a 6-meter-high ceiling, our design approach turns rather inward and sensible. By unraveling and redefining style, functionality and flow, the focus is back onto ideal living based on the dwellers’ day-to-day needs. That is a home speaking of visual charm, spatial freedom yet with a human touch.
