Shangrao Building Technology Museum

Located in the urban renewal district of Shangrao, the project is a showcase for sustainable urban development, combining an interactive exhibition for building technology, a conference center, a platform for urban planning dialogue and a technology innovation center, bringing together policy makers, infrastructure experts and the general public to develop cutting-edge ideas for future cities and related infrastructure, and to lead the way in the development of future sustainable cities and building technology.



The design uses scenes instead of buildings to form a multi-layered exhibition space inside the building. The outer circle is a 360-degree wrap-around ramp that connects the upper and lower levels, and as the circle gradually rises, the new city under construction comes into view, which is also a showroom and command center for sustainable urban development, and a window to show the public advanced concepts of future cities and infrastructure.



The top floor of the building is surrounded by a pool of spring water, and the 8-meter diameter transparent acrylic roof panel is used to bring light into the exhibition area below, creating a timeline narrative exhibition that connects the inner and outer space. The water surface on the roof is the exposed part of the rainwater collection device, which aims to make the use of natural renewable resources visible, and to regulate the internal temperature through the water control device on the roof. In the center of the exhibition hall, the waves shimmer, and the whole space creates a dialogue between technology and space-time, telling the world from the inside out that changes are happening every second.



The building as a whole adopts a pre-fabricated construction method and environmentally friendly building materials, fully demonstrating the use of new building materials for energy-saving, resource-saving and low-carbon emission development.
