Wuxi BoYueWan

The project is located in Xinwu District, Wuxi City. The north side of the base is Bodu River with urban green belts along the both sides. Living area and office area are connected via the urban green axis. The axis runs through the base from south to north and becomes an important landscape group.

The 60-meter urban interface forms an undulating skyline along the street. The scale layout of the entrance main building, in terms of the vertical composition, the slope crest, cornice, architrave, and doorway of the building also follow a strict modular ratio. Under precise technical control, the both sides enclosed by scenery wall highlights the far-reaching feature and emphasizes the feeling of extension and lightness.

This case is to build a natural and harmony park community which follows Wuxi's urban planning structure, takes advantage of the urban green axis, conforms to the urban texture. It relies on Taihu Lake to develop its urban inherent industries. The Beijing-Hangzhou Canal brings vitality to the region and the whole city as well and engraves a long historical context. We combined the gardening techniques of Jiangnan Gardens to show the sense of ceremony at the main entrance and create a landscape space with multiple changes. In the expression of Modern Chinese style, the BoYueWan Demonstration Zone, taking the traditional space spirit as its starting point, shapes a 4D space of traditional Chinese Garden that features “walking while the scenery changing “and landscape within the building. In terms of the architectural style, Chinese connotation and temperament are emphasized. With slightly complicated carving, the original traditional Chinese style is appropriately added as embellishment, forming a new popular Chinese garden complex with modern spirit that is “promising, feasible, travelable and habitable”.
