Amancook Restaurant

In Amancook Restaurant (Dongguan Airport Terminal), GS Design satisfies consumers' needs and realizes spatial value from multiple aspects such as spatial art, set commercial transformation, and aesthetic experience.



The design team continues its simplistic style using ordinary material and fine crafts, materializing the abstract Malevich plane composition painting and turning it stereoscopic, expressing and revisiting GS Design's pure and introspective mentality. GS respects Amancook Restaurant's brand ideals, and creates a novel and quality spatial experience.



In terms of spatial sectional relations, GS Design connects and extends dots into lines, then into planes, the form and aesthetics of which are evolution of architectural elements; while internally, these elements are not only shapes, but also artistic expressive forces that thrive in contemporary minimalism.



Simple and elegant waterscape designs give glimpses of modernist maestro Louis Kahn and Carlo Scarpa, and the way GS Design places these waterscapes among the space, either for decoration or drinking purpose, precisely meets the tasteful need for spatial elegance. Through the setup of chairs, bar, and waterscape sculptures, the space seems to flow like water.



The designer keeps the overall spatial height and integrity, with glass walls setting off the whole atmosphere, making the main cafe a transparent, bright, and modern space.



In the transparent, simplistic, consistent, and flexible modern style, the designer integrated rich details. Regional axial design adds a sense of stability in the overall flexible layout; detailed transitions between the waterscapes and for example the bar present some industrial style roughness, yet also delicate and smooth craftsmanship.



GS Design aims to express and explore, in the overall minimalistic, black and white style, the rough vs. refined and soft vs. hard texture, the quiet vs. flowing and bright vs. dark space, and all the nuances in between.
