Xi'an Koayoung South-city Senior House

Xi’an Koayoung South-city Senior House is located on the Second Ring of South Yanta District, the ancient capital of the six dynasties, Xi’an. The surrounding area is a comparably mature large residential area with a large demand for the old-age care. Considering the China’s population ageing group is rapidly growing and combing the current situation that the living habits of the elderly in China seems only get used to the embedded community pension model. Not mention the elderly people can have professional care services and get regular visits from their family members without leaving their home.





In the design, we distinguish the North and South public activity space with different colors in terms of the theme and different customer segmentations. Arranging the chairs and tables in the public space in a flexible way. In the recovering space, we set up a community area for ageing people to meet and gather interactively. In the training sector, green plants and flower pond are plant vertically, surrounded by the colored partition walls. Compared with the single colored space, decorated with a more vibrant color would invoke people’s interests in the training sessions. Closer to the facade curtain wall, a built-in balcony was created, not only providing natural light but also giving a view to the outside scenery, soothing people’s soul. The colorful corridor floor is easily to recognise. Different areas are painted with different colors, just like every family has their own unique living style. Delightful and enjoyable living conditions and free style furniture arrangements are friendly for elderly people, besides that exquisite plants are also planted inside of the space. The overall advancement set up, bringing a new lifestyle for the ageing people in China and making people care more on senior care design in the future.
