The homeowner intentionally renovates the old house to delight the parents. Unexpectedly, they passed away one after another!

Thence, he experiences loneliness in the secluded ambiance.

Even so, the long-lasting attachment to the parents accompanies the property owner stay in the brand new spacious home, never left.

The house lives a lonely person.

We carefully ponder the demands of different phases and get down to the ambivalent personality of the homeowner to fulfill the beautiful vision he wants to bring to the parents step by step. Moreover, take advantage of the excellent daylighting of the old house and transform it into a spacious, inviting layout not only meets the expectation for the family to live together but also suits for a person to live alone, as well as welcoming friends to visit.

We re-plan the configuration of the space full of living sundries to create a roomy feeling, smooth moving flow, and sufficient functional features. For instance, transform the balcony into an interior-resting nook also serves as a home office. Re-design the original spare room into a multi-purpose area to add flexible settings.

To carry on the idea of enlarging the space, we transform the interior patterns and scoop out an oval-shaped window in the partition wall to introduce brilliant natural light and the outdoor green scene. In addition, set up a curve turn of the walkway from the entry foyer to the kitchen-dining area, ingeniously soothe the missing mood of the proprietor to his deceased parents.

We finish the intersected crossbeams with faux paint to pretty well present the original texture. Then, inlay the storage cabinets' doors at the entry foyer with unrefined canvas to reveal the ancient signs of the old house in the brand new space. Skillfully integrate the old and new elements to create coordinated situations that accompany the homeowner to recall the past and look forward to the future.
