Italian grey terrazzo floorings, pebble-like artistic paints on the wall, and the white rustic stone-made television wall have highlighted the leading grey-white tone, allowing the space to emit a sense of modern and vividness. The designer has also selected decorations that add an antique-y sense to the residence. The designer hoped to fulfill the owner’s dream of living in childhood memory. Hence, aside from stone materials,

color tones of Northern Europe are replaced with deeper brown colors for the wooden furniture. The colors are a symbol of the owner’s family business in the wood industry. The owner of the house hoped to live in an environment that brings back the memories of childhood. Unlike the trending Northern European style or industrial style, the designer of this project applied terrazzo and other stone materials to elaborate the primary facades. At the same time, wooden furniture and decorations are placed in the interior to create a vintage-like living environment. A massive amount of terrazzo is used; the reclaimed material is easy to repair and eco-friendly; meanwhile, the artistic paints on the wall are also green mineral materials. Besides, the application for natural stone materials, wooden materials, and engineered hardwood floorings have all responded to environmental protection. Since there are no other buildings around this project, the lighting conditions are exceptional. Initial wide windows are retained while cabinets are set up in areas where lightings cannot reach; meanwhile, low furniture is decorated by the windows that are only paired with grey yarn curtains to maximize the natural lightings. As for the ventilation arrangements, doors are set up initially on both sides of the two balconies; no cabinets or walls are set up in front of the entrances to maximize ventilation effectiveness. Furthermore, the high-ceiling interior is set up with ceiling fans to decrease energy consumption massively.
