Smart Agriculture Demonstration Park, Pizhou

Located at the border between north and south China, Pizhou is abundant in natural resources, vegetation, water systems and parks, including the world renowned Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal meandering through. Similar to the situation in other rural areas in China, for the almost three decades, urbanization has brought about demographic transition from rural population to urban citizenry, while the development of rural areas tends to lag behind. Therefore, rural revitalization has become one of the future development strategies of many cities. This strategy also facilitates the cooperation between the government and sci-tech agricultural enterprises to develop future-oriented smart agricultural projects in the rural area of south of Pizhou, in that case, advanced science and technology will be introduced to agricultural production and provide more employment opportunities; moreover, It will attract more tourists and add vitality to the local economy.

The design team gets involved in as a planner and proposes a positioning of "smart countryside, future pastorale", which intends to reflect the core theme of "wisdom" throughout the industrial chain and development process related to the project. 5G technology, big data and machine technology are adopted to achieve intelligent planting and intelligent processing; digitization, parameterization & prefabrication and 3D printing technology are applied to realize intelligent design and intelligent construction; immersive and interactive experience is guaranteed to enable intelligent display; digital systematization and visualization is assured to conduct intelligent management. At the same time, considering the different needs of people from agricultural industry, local residents, and people fond of agricultural and cultural tourism, the project combines the functions of future countryside experience area, tourist service center, agricultural museum, culture exchange center, agricultural products processing experience center and panoramic lifted observation deck. These functions together constitute a technological, ecological and pastoral complex.

The germination of seed becomes the design concept. The buildings in the central area are like four seeds, and the walkways in the park represent sprouted vines, growing towards the direction where the best lighting and air originate. And the landscape flowers are newborn leaves, symbolizing colorful life.
