In recent 20 years, with obesity and aging, the number of people suffering from sleep apnea syndrome (SAS) in China has increased rapidly. Currently, the number of the patients in China is about 176 million, which is the highest in the world. SAS with common symptoms like loud snoring, apnea when snoring, and daytime sleepiness, is literally a systemic disease which causes damage to multiple body systems.

The main cause of snoring is the flaccidity or rearward movement of upper respiratory tract and pharyngeal tissues, including the uvula, tonsils, adenoids, and root of the tongue. Respirator and surgery are the two main treatments of SAS. Besides expensive and large space demad, the respirator treatment is restricted to a certain space, and takes a long treatment cycle. Although the latter works relatively faster, it may prone to have adverse effects on living during the postoperative rehabilitation, and there are the odds of recurrence. In response to this situation, this oral appliance is developed as a medical aid which is distinguished by two features. Firstly, the appliance can fix the mandible and stop it from moving backwards, thus effectively reducing the obstruction of the tract from palatopharyngeus to glossopharyngeum. Suitable for patients with multi-site obstructions in the tract, it boasts the advantages of stable effect, comfort and portability. Another feature of the product is that the extensible stick to the tract with a larger adjustable range can be adjusted between 0mm to 8mm according to the differen needs of patients for the expansion of upper airway, which adaptable to more people. In structural design, the Asian dental arch is fully considered to make the product light and comfortable in use. Besides, a patented upper-lower joint structure is adopted for easier operation and further portability. With a built-in temperature sensing device, the bite molding step is simplified, and users only need to observe its temperature label, without additional timing or temperature taking.
