Hangyun Mansion, a Design Work Inspired by the Tides

This project is located in Haining, Zhejiang Province, a water town south of the Yangtze River. EH DESIGN GROUP came up with a design that vividly presents the project's charm and cultural heritage through its use of materials, colors, structure, and lines.

There is a wood-grain metal dome overhead, the floor is paved with Bulgarian gray ceramic tiles underfoot, and a simple white wall stands between. Not to mention the calligraphy work that combines both slim and sturdy strokes in official script to lend the space a traditional Chinese cultural style. The black copper-like stainless steel reception desk adds some modern aesthetic feel to the traditional atmosphere.

The whole sales center is capacious, functionally organized, and connected between different areas. At the sand table area, one can easily see the meeting area, the bar, and the play area for children. With a Chinese bonsai serving as a visual focus, the designer cleverly shifts visitors’ attention from the sand table area to the meeting area by creating the landscape of withered stems on a wall of latticework.
