The project is a show flat inside Horoy · Imperial Mansion, an apartment development located in Guiwan Area, Qianhai, Shenzhen. This residential space has a common layout with two bedrooms, occupying a gross floor area of 135m². Through meticulous spatial design and control of natural light and proportions, the space is endowed with a unique touch, and reveals introverted elegance and aesthetics. The large balcony introduces ample natural daylight into the living room. The pale cyan glass wall and the natural-tone furnishings leave enough space for light and shadows to play a significant role. The green sofa is complemented by dynamic light and shadows, and the African raw jade stones on the tea table glitter when bathing in afternoon sunlight. The living and dining area is transparent and open. The dominant dark brown hue reveals the grain and texture of wooden materials, while harmonizing with crystal elements and red shade to give the space a calm and romantic touch. The wooden dining table retains the original texture, and the petal-shaped crystal suspended lamp above it enriches the layering of light. The designers hope to express the classy taste of this space, whilst also showing the everyday life atmosphere through furnishings combination. The overall combination of furnishings in the master bedroom is closely relevant to daily life. An understated luxury and elegant vibe permeates the whole bedroom. In the early morning, the white curtain sways with the sea breeze. Light penetrates the curtain and falls on the wall in the shape of numerous dots, generating a charming picture. Due to the limited area, how to conceive the next main functional space posed a great challenge to the designers. After repeated discussions, the design team designed a tea room, where dwellers can enjoy being lost in thought alone or chatting with friends. When the tea table is taken away and the seating furniture changes into a small bed, the tea room can be functioned as a bedroom for guests, thus maximizing the use of every inch of space.
