Xi'an Chanba Hanabi Park

The project is located in the riverside park-where is the intersection of the Chanhe River and the Bahe River in the CBE (Chanba Ecological District) of Xi'an, China-will fill the gap of high-end commercial space in the east of Xi'an after completed. It will be a one-stop tourism and living destination for garden visiting, socializing, shopping and cultural activities.



Inspired by Hanabi, the design allows architecture and landscape like the Hanabi to bloom on the two rivers meet. For a more pleasant urban spatial scale, the building is divided into seven independent “petals” with three storeys, as the flagship store of international brands. The high-speed ring road on the third floor connects each building in series, to provide an interesting wandering experience. The roof of “petals” separately provides citizens with rich theme spaces, such as children's theater, open-air cinema, urban farm and garden coffee.



The main commercial functions of the project are arranged in the two underground floors. The overhead system between the upper “petals” and the first underground floor is an extension of the park system. In order to echo the characteristic of the site-on the waterfront, a sunken Aqua shopping park is designed on the second underground floor. A river runs through this commercial block, providing a unique cruise shopping experience. In the sunken park, customers can fully enjoy the natural pleasure brought by sunshine, rivers and plants, just like being in an organic life body. The shape of these buildings is blooming like Hanabi, and Xi'an will be more attractive because of it.
