In this project, the designer infuses modern technology and electronic elements into a classic cave image, thus creating a futuristic private club. Equipped with a state-of-art environmental control system, which monitors all the information of the space and institutes a secured, efficient management. The space itself is surrounded by columns and irregular circular lines to form a cave-like ambience of mystery and divinity. The common area functions as a hosting space for the owner’s guests. The living room is set up with deep blue for its steadiness and calmness. A curve emerges from the ceiling and dives into the wall, creating a sense of fluidity and openness. The geometric LED lighting above the bar resembles the windows of a starship, which forms an illusion of a futuristic space trip with amazing views of the universe. The lattice design of the wall resonates with the earthy vibes of the stone veins, adding layers to the space. Besides, voice control hidden doors are applied. The space seems doorless yet with a certain phrase being said, the door reveals and becomes an element of surprise. The master bedroom continues the theme. By heavily applying a gentle earthy tone, the designer builds a private cave for people to relax and rest. On top of the bathroom, next to the bed sits a semi-open space with a tub. The separation between the bed and the tub is an irregular arch which follows the same style of that in the common space, creating a theatrical effect to this rather calming room. Intelligent technology is the backbone of this project. Through modern techno, the space is controlled with precision. The aesthetics, on the other hand, is a reinvention of a cave, the oldest form of house. The two aspects seem clashing at first sight, yet with the designer’s well-constructed layout and attention to detail, the space becomes a realm where the old and the new merge into one.
