The smart organizing system HabitNest emerged from multiple research methods to solve the real root problem of daily clutter by guiding users to develop the habit of returning items instead of locating lost items. The HabitNest system unites a tray with smart lighting features, home automation capabilities, and mobile application connectivity to lead users through their daily return activities with a focus on timing and consistency and minimal effort for developing sustainable organizational habits. The system provides gentle alerts, individualized progress reports, and community support to users. HabitNest converts regular daily activities into enduring habits that users can maintain.
