About The Entry

The "26.57" project is a premium packaging design created for a limited-edition Vermentino di Gallura DOCG Superiore, blending Sardinian heritage with contemporary aesthetics. Rooted in tradition yet forward-thinking, it visually narrates the wine's artisanal and territorial philosophy with elegance and precision.

The name "26.57" directly references the precise geographical coordinates of the vineyard located in Luogosanto, in northern Sardinia. This choice symbolizes authenticity, a deep respect for the land, and highlights the specific terroir that yields exceptional grapes at higher altitudes.

Produced in a limited run of 1,300 individually numbered bottles, the design emphasizes exclusivity through a striking gold foil wrap. This gold element is chosen primarily for its reflective qualities, metaphorically symbolizing the brilliance and rarity of a wine originating from meticulous manual selection of grapes harvested from sun-exposed vineyard rows.

Balancing minimalism with rich materials, the packaging features clean, modern typography contrasted against organic vineyard imagery. This approach deliberately avoids traditional wine clichés, aiming instead for a timeless identity appealing to connoisseurs, collectors, and design enthusiasts.

Sustainability and tactility guided the selection of materials and finishes, including metallic gold, embossed textures, and a custom label. The physical experience of handling the bottle complements the wine's sensory tasting experience, reinforcing its connection to the terroir.

"26.57" is more than a name—it embodies a declaration of origin and intent, inviting consumers to trace the wine back to its roots, landscape, climate, and the people behind it. Thus, the packaging does not merely contain the wine but encapsulates the essence of its place.

Ultimately, this project seeks to elevate Sardinian wine design internationally, presenting it as a refined and contemporary representation of a land rich in character and culture.
