About The Entry

Centered around the core concept of "Open City, Painting-like Landscape" ,this design translates the misty expanse of Taihu Lake and the artistic conception of Jiangnan-style paintings into architectural language. The facade features undulating lines that flow like ink-wash brushstrokes, echoing the contours of distant mountains. The ground-level commercial street incorporates inner courtyards to draw nature inward, creating an immersive experience where the scenery changes with every step, allowing the architecture to grow organically within the regional cultural context.

The design adopts a "multi-venue integration" strategy, fundamentally breaking away from the traditional, monotonous, and enclosed functional layout of conventional Workers' Cultural Palaces. By introducing natural light and sightlines through courtyards and skylights, commercial spaces, exhibition halls, sports venues, and educational offices are organically integrated into an interconnected complex. Spatial boundaries are intentionally blurred, allowing flexible conversion of venue functions and forming a vertically interwoven experience of intertwined sightlines and interpenetrating activities. Rather than being confined to a single space, citizens can view exhibitions while engaging in sports or immerse themselves in commercial vibrancy during breaks from training, thereby redefining an open, interactive, and ever-refreshing urban cultural living room.
