Located in Daganwei Area, Haizhu Innovation Bay, Guangzhou, the project occupies a prime waterfront site at the intersection of the city’s new central axis and the Pearl River’s back channel. Rooted in Lingnan Maritime Silk Road culture, it follows the theme “Stellar Exploration · Riverside Journey.” Inspired by the dynamic lines of yacht silhouettes and the fluidity of the Pearl River, the design embodies a “Boundless” philosophy—overcoming the limitations of a compact site to create a mixed-use commercial space blending creative energy with cultural depth, shaping a landmark for the area’s urban landscape.
The yacht-inspired aesthetic extends throughout, using streamlined forms and maritime grille materials. Custom perforated aluminum panels evoke river ripples, fostering visual continuity between interior and exterior spaces. Lighting design highlights include the immersive “Stellar Canopy” at the entrance and the interactive “Dawn Starfall” installation in the atrium, enriching the night scene while enhancing artistic appeal and commercial atmosphere. The “Boundless” concept integrates architecture and landscape, with stepped setbacks linking the atrium to the riverside park to form multidimensional spatial experiences. Intelligent systems and active-building concepts align technology with design, ensuring both innovation and functionality.
Spatial planning emphasizes diverse experiences, combining social hubs, lifestyle venues, and landmark destinations. Skylights, atriums, and operable viewing windows create a bright, ventilated, and immersive environment. Market research informed the design to align with target audiences, merging regional culture with modern trends to strengthen brand identity and competitiveness.
Sustainability underpins the entire lifecycle. The project meets China Green Building Label Two-Star Standard, featuring BIPV rooftop modules, Low-E glazing, sunshades, and zoned temperature control—achieving 26% renewable energy utilization and 34% energy savings. Eco-friendly and recycled materials, rainwater harvesting, and intelligent environmental systems further reduce impact while enhancing comfort.
As an urban waterfront landmark, the project promotes community interaction, embodies low-carbon operations, and sets a model for sustainable regional commercial development—redefining the paradigm of waterfront urbanism in Haizhu Innovation Bay.
