About The Entry

From my own perspective as an urban Indigenous person, I reinterpret the fusion of traditional dress culture and contemporary fashion.

The city is not an opposition—it is another kind of tribe. The memory of the totems has not been lost; it has simply taken on a different form and continues to pulse.

Inspired by the representative cultural assets of Taiwan’s Indigenous Paiwan people—Paiwan stone-slab house and Paiwan Glass Beads —we create new totems and production techniques.Through pleating and fringed edges, the totems are given three-dimensional form, echoing the stacked structure of slate houses and the primal texture of Formosan Clouded Leopard fur.Combined with denim and washed finishes, this results in contemporary garments infused with cultural depth.

Purpose: Through handcrafted garments rooted in the philosophy of slow fashion, I seek to continue the spirit of traditional artisanal dressmaking—creating for those who love fashion without following trends, and who care deeply about the stories woven into each piece.
