Located within the Middle Capital Cultural Heritage Corridor of Jin Dynasty, the project stands on the very ground that witnessed the origins of Beijing as a capital city. Only 1.5 km from the South 2nd Ring Road, it occupies a prime core site in the Lize Financial Business District. The development spans 63,672 m2 and comprises a refined residential community of 12 high-rise buildings.
The landscape design is unified by flowing curves that extend across the entire site. Arched gateways, sculpted stone walls, and spiral-pattern paving interweave with layered planting and water features, creating a spatial sequence of “turning peaks and unfolding vistas”. The result is an environment where advanced construction technology and refined aesthetics coexist in harmony.
The main entrance gate stretches 90 m in length and rises 7 m in height. Its overall form evokes a mountain massif, while pedestrian circulation is conceived as a passage through a mountain cave. The structure is crafted entirely from curved stone and precision-engineered metal components. Each stone block carries a unique identifier and is cut and polished according to parametric positioning, enabling seamless, millimeter-level assembly.
A 22-m-wide cascading waterfall is composed of 373 parametrically arranged stone blocks. Below, a 30-m sunken courtyard recreates the imagery of a mountain stream, with custom-shaped stone meticulously carved to simulate natural water ripples. The central rockery adopts the traditional technique of “a coiling dragon resting in a ravine”, forming the terrain with over 200,000 metal leaves installed at fixed angles, precisely interlocked with bluestone steps.
Feature stones are assembled using natural stone veneers, sealed to evoke the texture of iron-clad mountain cliffs. The stone surfaces are aged to preserve natural fissures and stratification. Ground paving is cut in sweeping arcs to form a spiral nebula pattern, while pathways are finished with rough-textured bluestone to echo the tactile quality of the rockery. Planting emphasizes rare and mature tree species, arranged with the compositional spirit of Jin Dynasty literati landscape painting-restrained, expressive, and timeless.
