Located in a core financial and business district, the project embraces the design philosophy of interpreting local culture in a contemporary way, reflecting the city’s blend of historical heritage and modern development. It addresses the growing demand for high-end commercial and office spaces by creating a humanistic environment that combines practicality with cultural depth.

The design innovates through the integration of local cultural elements, material expression, and structural aesthetics. Local arch motifs and street textures are reinterpreted into bronze metal arch shapes and diagonally laid dark stone slabs. The dome, featuring a cross-shaped light spine and circular light rings, serves as the project’s visual centerpiece. This fusion of light and shadow links cultural heritage with modern life, creating a unique space that balances traditional forms with contemporary needs.

Functionally, the layout is modular, allowing for adaptable spaces that can easily transition between various uses. A horizontal social axis features a café, while a multi-functional bar with modular sofa clusters enables flexible interactions for waiting, communication, and business. Black-framed glass doors and transparent partitions provide office privacy while maintaining spatial openness. The office area’s contrast of light white countertops and dark wood cabinetry enhances both the aesthetic and functional experience.

Aesthetically, the design adheres to minimalist geometry, local materials, and the interplay of light and shadow. The use of materials such as Taihang Mountain stone, metal mesh, leather, and dark wood veneers creates a sophisticated yet contemporary visual rhythm, which conveys cultural meaning while responding to modern design sensibilities.

The curved dome and lighting system presented construction challenges. Parametric design was used to optimize the dome’s curvature and the lighting layout, ensuring both structural stability and visual harmony. Sustainability is prioritized through the use of locally sourced, eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient design, such as optimized natural lighting and ventilation. The design bridges urban history with modern commerce, serving as a model for projects that merge culture and functionality.
