The project is located in Oasis Central Ring Center in Putuo District, Shanghai, within the core area of the Zhonghuan Changfeng business district. As an urban node that carries both the historical legacy of Shanghai’s Haipai culture and the vitality of contemporary commerce, the district has gradually evolved into a mixed-use ecosystem integrating offices, retail, and urban living.
In this context, the designer adopted “water” as the central spatial metaphor, translating the company’s philosophy of openness and excellence into a perceptible spatial language. Movement and interaction unfolded naturally along with the elements of droplets, curves, and flowing lines in a rational framework of modern industrial aesthetics.
The designer interpreted the image of a water droplet touching the surface through a sculptural, curved stone reception desk. Mirrored ceilings and linear lighting create layered reflections reminiscent of rippling water, allowing light to travel softly across space. The curved corridor becomes the backbone of the spatial circulation. Instead of a purely functional passage, the designer shaped the corridor with flowing walls and continuous light bands to generate a sense of rhythm and exploration. At the turning point, a recessed conversation nook appears unexpectedly, transforming circulation into a social pause point where employees can shift naturally to casual interaction.
The open office area emphasizes efficiency and collaboration while maintaining visual openness. Light wood textures, warm yellow accents, and subtle gray furnishings establish a calm yet layered color palette, softening the rational character of the industrial framework. A pantry with a white bar counter, wood-slatted ceiling details, and expansive urban views enables a shared setting where informal meetings, brainstorming, and moments of rest can naturally unfold within the daily rhythm of work.
Supported by an intelligent drip-irrigation system, the greenery provides emotional relief within the workplace. The adjacent meeting rooms are framed with movable partitions, enabling flexible opening and closing configurations to adapt to different working modes. Material selection and energy-efficient lighting reflect the designers’ commitment to sustainability and well-being. Ultimately, the design created a contemporary workplace where functional clarity and human warmth coexist in a measured and meaningful harmony.
