About The Entry
Trébol is a non-planar 3D-printed table lamp manufactured via multi-axis robotic additive fabrication. Inspired by the clover’s symbolism of luck and protection, it translates natural growth into precisely executable toolpaths, making how it is made part of the design language. A continuous shell with graded thickness forms three arched lobes that expand from a stable base and gently converge, clarifying load paths. At critical turns, curvature transitions and segmented interfaces provide stress release while preserving printability and structural reliability. Non-planar deposition climbs along the surface to generate arc-layered textures that function as both stiffening ribs and light-guiding grooves, producing a soft luminance gradient and subtle halo edges through combined diffusion and refraction. A single brass back plate integrates a downward, uniform light source to reduce glare and enhance ambience and perceived transparency—quietly lighting “good luck” for everyday moments.
