Gallery of Lingering Calm

Rooted in the homeowner's calm and introverted character, the design strips away non-essential decorative elements to refocus on the essence of living. Inspiration is drawn from the homeowner's personal collections—skateboards, LEGO, and board games—treating these objects as the spatial protagonists. Within the constrained 20-ping footprint, partitions are removed to optimize circulation. Mineral coatings with natural texture, warm wood tones, and greige tones introduce a wabi-sabi quietude into modern functional lines, creating a living environment where emotions settle and both stillness and activity feel at home.

The floor plan is restructured to transform an enclosed layout into a highly fluid living vessel. By removing the wall behind the living room and replacing it with a permeable bookshelf, visual depth expands and spatial boundaries dissolve—allowing the home to shift freely between solitary retreat and social gathering. The public zone is designed as a multi-functional curatorial space for the homeowner's collections. Appliances are integrated into the inner kitchen, with smoked glass sliding doors containing cooking fumes while maintaining visual clarity. The integrated bar counter and dining table create a comfortable scale for multi-person gatherings.

In the open sleeping alcove, a floating platform is realized through slender columns connecting floor to ceiling, expressing a refined craftsmanship aesthetic. Mineral coatings are applied across all wall surfaces, shifting in texture and shadow with changing daylight angles—turning every corner and personal collection into a stage for living.
