About The Entry

Betonhaut draws inspiration from mid-20th-century Neo-Brutalism, exploring the symbiotic relationship between architectural language and the human body as a form of “second skin.” Rooted in the philosophy of béton brut and its pursuit of radical honesty, the collection translates the raw intensity of Brutalist architecture into garment design. Rejecting ornamentation and superficial refinement, it exposes heavy geometric forms, structural frameworks, and material contrasts without concealment.

The collection transforms the textures, fractures, and layered surfaces of concrete into sculptural silhouettes that emphasize the interaction between structure and human form. Through processes of deconstruction and reconstruction, garments embody tension, resilience, and spatial presence, extending beyond the body into surrounding space. Raw and unfinished materials become mediums that carry thought, intention, and emotion, creating a dialogue between fashion, architecture, and movement while reinterpreting the powerful atmosphere of Brutalist environments.
