About The Entry
The Environmental Bottle Recycling Machine takes discarded vending machines as its core carrier, innovatively realizing a surreal integration of marine ecological imagery and urban public facilities. It breaks the inherent boundary between the coldness of industrial creations and the vitality of natural ecology, endowing the discarded equipment with new ecological value and artistic vitality. On its mottled turquoise body, uneven rust interweaves with natural textures; corals, seaweed and various marine life communities grow and spread freely — some corals dot the gaps of the machine's buttons, while some seaweed hangs down the edge of the body. The originally cold and hard metal shell is wrapped layer by layer by soft natural textures, cleverly reshaped into a "marine monument" that carries profound ecological thinking. With the striking visual image of a machine "devoured" by nature, the work accurately metaphors the severe erosion of marine ecology by plastic pollution — as a common product under the rapid development of consumerism, the excessive use and improper disposal of plastic bottles eventually counterattack the marine home in the form of pollution, profoundly exploring the in-depth connection between the wave of consumerism and the ecological crisis. It not only calls on people to face up to the fragile status of the marine environment through artistic expression, but also guides the public to actively reflect on the profound impact of human activities on nature, conveying the environmental concept of "respecting nature, coexisting in a circular way and developing greenly", allowing everyone who stops to watch to feel the urgency and importance of ecological protection.
